Baptisms are wonderful celebrations.
With the congregation gathered round, we witness people confess their confidence in God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, welcome them into Christ's church, and urge them not to be ashamed of Christ crucified, and to fight bravely against the sin and the devil.
Baptism signifies cleansing. Parents are always washing their children to clean them! In baptism, we ask God to do a deeper cleansing - to wash them clean from sin. Baptism therefore marks a new beginning with God.
We see it as a significant contact with the community, and take seriously the relationship established in baptism.
To find out more about having your child baptised, simply turn up to the 10am Church Service and introduce yourself to the minister afterwards.
